Prices, repairs, and what we sharpen.

How much does knife sharpening cost?

In store, knife sharpening is $1.50 per inch of blade, with a 6-inch minimum. Scissors start at $10. Mail-in pricing is on the mail-in page.

Do you offer same-day knife sharpening?

Yes. Sharpening at our Signal Hill and Fresno stores is done same day. Walk in during open hours or book a time online. In Fresno, Monday visits are by appointment.

Do you sharpen bread knives and serrated knives?

Yes. Bread knives and other serrated knives come back sharp.

Can you sharpen high-end Japanese knives?

Yes. We sharpen high-end Japanese knives as well as everyday kitchen knives.

Can a broken tip or chipped edge be fixed?

Yes, and most people don’t know that. We fix broken tips and chipped or damaged edges. Before you replace a favorite knife, bring it to one of our stores.

Do you sharpen scissors?

Yes. Scissor sharpening starts at $10.

Where can I find knife sharpening near me?

Mr. Sharpe has two stores: 3100 E. Willow St. in Signal Hill, serving the Long Beach area, and 7412 N. Fresno St. in Fresno. Outside those areas, mail your knives in or catch us at an event or local stop.

How does mail-in sharpening work?

Order online and we send you mailing supplies. Pack your knives as shown, send them in, and they come back sharpened. Details are on the mail-in page.

Do you sharpen for restaurants?

Yes. Sharpe Exchange is our knife program for restaurants and professional kitchens. At the Signal Hill store, restaurants and pro kitchens also get 20% off walk-in sharpening on Mondays.

Do I need an appointment?

No. Walk in during open hours, or book Signal Hill or book Fresno if you prefer a set time. Fresno Mondays are by appointment only.
